This class is an introduction to user experience (UX) research.
It will survey a number of methods and techniques for understanding users’ needs and practices and translating them into design decisions. Through a series of quick exercises and then a major class project, students will learn to use these methods both creatively and appropriately to ask questions and solve problems.
Topics include:
- Planning research projects
- Observation and interviewing
- Usability (lab-based, remote, and mobile)
- Surveys
- Common UX deliverables
- Reports, workshops, and other ways of delivering
Prerequisites: 203 or consent of instructor.
