This paper is a first pass at your final paper. Please describe (as best you can at this point) what your media presentation will be, and how it will relate to the readings of the course. The purpose of this is for you to think about how the paper will draw on the readings, and for me to give you some guidance. The emphasis is on the readings and the more theoretical discussions, not the how-to.
This could take the form of a (very) extended abstract or an annotated outline. E.g., don’t just say “Labov,” talk about what elements of Labov you’ll draw on and, briefly, how his work is relevant.
Draw on as much of the class content as you can. This means not only as many readings but as many different topics — not just readings from a single topic.
Due: Tues Nov 6
Please email me an electronic copy AND turn in a paper copy by 5pm — bring to class or put in my mailbox in room 102.
