Bob Sacha’s visual storytelling classes
These people started at experienced photographers and had access to pretty good audio equipment But they had never done this kind of work before and did *3* pieces each in a week of fulltime work. These are from his basic class. He also teaches more advanced classes.
- Visual Storytelling with Audio 2007 class – the video at the bottom of the page is a collection of pieces, including the 2 above it. They used Soundslides to combine audio and still images.
- 2009 Visual Storytelling with Audio Class – part 1
- At the bottom of this page are some examples from his advanced class.
- Final Projects of Fall 2011 Certificate in Documentary Arts Graduates
- Continuing Education Certificate Projects Spring 2011
- CHIstory wins Golden Mouse Award at CHI! (2009)
- Sand canvas (2011)
- Microwave Racing (2012) – “This video tied for third place in a recent HFES YouTube video contest about communicating Human Factors research to the general public -.. also just received the ‘Golden mouse award’ for this video at the CHI video showcase for ‘best thought piece’!”
UX Channel
“Curated” videos about User Experience research & design — some of these are talking head videos, chosen because of the content. Some are simply videos of conference talks. But some, more interesting, are product design or concept videos.
Random Stuff
Sh*t Journalists Say – Ran across this one – fun, and more at your level, probably.
Bold Edition – I might not use a narrator with such a strong accent for a US audience, but otherwise this is interesting. Here are some of their pieces — similar to what you might do. I suspect others of theirs would be good, too.
