Project Write-Ups

You will turn in a paper summarizing your project.

This is more than you would likely deliver to many clients, since I want more detail and justification than a client is likely to want.  Think of me as a skeptical member of the audience: someone who has to be convinced that you did indeed do credible work and whose recommendations should be taken seriously. Or as a contract administrator who needs documentation that you did all the work that you promised.

The paper will include the same topics as in your final presentation, but with more detail, especially  about the client, your methods, the findings from your data collection, and your conclusions and recommendations.

In addition, you should include (usually in appendices) copies of your research materials, including (but not limited to):

  • survey forms
  • interview questions
  • a description of your participants
  • materials developed for usability tests
  • and other such materials.

ADDED 12/5/10: YES, include reflections on the process and what you learned.
