Job Opening: Project Management Consultant – School Loop

In case any one knows project managers looking for work.

Project Management Consultant

School Loop is seeking proposals from a Project Management Consultant to create a project structure to help us manage
major strategic initiatives, implementation and partnerships. While this is a short-term assignment, we are open to an
ongoing relationship.

School Loop builds groupware software for K-12 schools. Our practical solutions lead to improved graduation rates
and after school success. The company serves nearly 3,000 schools and more than 240 school districts. Clients in
California include San Francisco, Long Beach, and Los Angeles — many of the state’s largest districts.

We are a small, rapidly growing company. We’re at the point where we need a more formal process around various
business activities. We’re hoping to end up with a project architecture — including artifacts and potentially software — that
we can use on an ongoing basis to help us scale efficiently into the future.

The successful consultant will have considerable project management experience in the software-as-a-service space, and
experience working with growth companies like ours.

Deliverables:

• Project plan for implementing the rollout and marketing of a new service

• Project tool to manage partnerships and co-development relationships

• Project tool to manage implementation and start-of-school-year related tasks

• Generalize the tools so we have a model for managing projects in other areas

Requirements:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and several years of project management experience
preferred, particularly translating strategic plans into actionable project plans

• Experience in the software space

• Experience working with small businesses

• Excellent written communication and presentation skills

• Demonstrated experience delivering projects across a wide variety of functions on time and on budget

How to Apply:

Respond to this opportunity with an email to project@schoolloop.com outlining your relevant experience and explain your interest in the opportunity. Explain how you work and get compensated. Include “Project Management Consultant” in the subject line of your email.

Compensation: Open to flat fee for project or hourly capped.

High Tech Product Dev.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Alex, one of the civil engineering masters students in the class. I noticed several of you have worked or are working in the technology industry and I would like to join forces with you for the group project. I’ve made documents like the final deliverable before from my past internships in the engineering industry so I’m sure those concepts would apply here as well. I’m interested in taking this class to see different perspectives and techniques to project management. If anyone is interested in planning a piece of hardware or software, you can contact me at ALC@berkeley.edu. Thanks!

Alex
