Overview
This semester will give you an extensive overview of the field of Information Visualization. We are following a [highlight]hands-on approach[/highlight]. Readings and lectures on Tuesday will cover basic visualization principles and theory. During the labs section on Thursday we will cover practical introductions to tools and frameworks, [highlight]tying together theory and practice[/highlight]. We will discuss existing visualizations and critique their effectiveness in conveying information. Finally, guest speakers from the industry will give an insight into how information visualization is used in practice.[/box]
