Classroom presence:
Please arrive to class promptly at 4:10pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Late arrivals can be disruptive to class activities. Let the instructors know ahead of time if you will need to miss class for some reason.

Use of electronic devices:
Laptops, phones, and other devices may be used during class for relevant activities only (e.g., taking notes). Non-relevant use (phone calls, text messaging, web surfing, etc.) is distracting to you and others and should be conducted outside the classroom.

Kindly turn off phone ringers during class.

Plagiarism:
Plagiarism is a serious offense and grounds for disciplinary action. The Berkeley Campus Code of Student Conduct defines plagiarism as “use of intellectual material produced by another person without acknowledging its source.” For examples of plagiarism, and ways to avoid it, visit Cite Responsibly.

Campus policy on course materials:
You may not post notes, presentation slides, scanned readings, readings accessed under campus licenses from publishers, or any other material from this class anywhere. (The one exception is material produced by you. If it is group work, all contributors must agree.) Any commercial use of materials from this class is forbidden by University policy and California state law.

You may not record this class. The one exception is students with disabilities, who should notify me if they are going to record the class or use a note-taker.

Read the University’s Course Note-Taking and Materials policy statement for full details.
