Midterm

You have two options for the midterm.

1. Take the midterm on March 22 during class time. A study guide should help you prepare for the exam.

2. Write a 2,000 words essay on one of  these topics due March 22.  If you choose the essay option instead of a midterm exam, you must “declare your intention” to us by March 8, giving what particular case you will discuss and you must submit an outline, with some of the readings you intend to use to support your argument (you can, of course, add other readings after this date).  We will let you know if you may proceed by March 10.  If you do not receive permission or if the paper is not ready by the due date (9 am on March 22) you will be expected to take the exam.
