Assignment: Change the Lighting
Pick some object to photograph — something mundane. Not a living being — no friends, no pets. Plants are OK. Something you can move around.
Take a picture with the lighting simply as it is.
Now take a dozen pictures of the same subject, each with different lighting.
Play around with your flash – try diffusing it, or shining it through something colored and transparent. Play around with other light sources. Use a flashlight. Use a lamp. Make the room dark. Move your object so the existing light falls on it differently. Photograph it backlit. Silhouetted against the window. With sidelight from the window. With a light underneath it.
Pick three to post to the class Flickr group, but come prepared to show us all of them on your Flickr account.
