Midterm

You have two options for the midterm.

Midterm Study Guide

  1. Take the midterm on March 21 during class time.
  2. Write a 2,000 words essay on one of  these topics due March 21.

If you choose the essay option instead of a midterm exam, you must “declare your intention” to us by March 7, detailing what topic you will discuss and you must submit an outline, with some of the readings you intend to use to support your argument (you can, of course, add other readings after this date). Review the midterm essay guidelines to get a better sense of what the essay option entails.

Email Professor Duguid, Professor Nunberg and Bryan a copy of your proposed topic and outline.

We will let you know if you may proceed with your proposed essay by March 10. If you do not receive permission or if the paper is not ready by the due date (9 am on March 21) you will be expected to take the exam.
